On October 29, 2011 The Arab American National Museum (AANM) held its 8th annual museum gala. It started with the American Anthem followed by greetings from the friends committee given by Wafa Salah the Chair of Friends of AANM, in which she thanked all the friends of the museum for their support and generous donations to upkeep and maintain the AANM as a beacon for commitment to creating a greater awareness of Arab history and culture, she also thanked many organizations that are supporting AANM including but not limited to Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services (ACCESS), Detroit Medical Center (DMC), Wayne State  School of Medicine, Karmanos, Henry Ford Health System, Oakwood Hospital The National Arab American Medical Association/ Michigan Chapter (NAAMA), Basha Diagnostics, American-Arab
 Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC), American Syrian Arab Cultural Association (ASAC), and many other organizations and people that helped keeping the goals, and vision of AANM attainable. She also acknowledged Rep. Rashida Tlaib for being Michigan’s first Arab American Muslim State Representative. She also  thanked Anan Ameri the Director of AANM saying “Under Dr. Anan Ameri’s guidance  and leadership, the dedicated and talented AANM staff remain firmly focused on  fulfilling the museum mission by delivering exhibitions and programs of the highest quality.” 
The event continued on with the dinner and then a spectacular fashion show presented by Hana Sadiq and expert in the integration of Arabic art and haute couture. Hana has designed dresses for royalty, customs for television films and series, and has represented Jordan in
cultural festivals all over the world. She has received many honors for her
exceptional work, including recognition in Italy as the“Ambassador of the Arabic
Fashion” and awards for her prominent participation in Jordan’s Jarash Festival,

Last but not least, the “IM HUSSEIN” theatrical show of Ajyal Theatrical Group in which a man dressed in women trappings of a Middle Eastern matriarch. “IM Hussein” is portrayed by
Najee Mondalek, a producer, director, writer, technical advisor, and on occasion stage sweeper. Mondalek founded the Ajyal Theatrical Group in Michigan in 1988 and has successfully toured the U.S. and Canada and performed in Sydney, Australia and in his native Beirut, Lebanon. The plays serve as a forum to help people laugh at their mistakes and mishaps but also to come to terms with social issues facing immigrants, such as their difficulties adjusting to a new culture and lifestyle, and consider these performances an important piece of the fabric of the Arab American culture.
