Welcome to East West Link News
Here, you will find a variety of news articles, blogs, community updates, and much more written by our very own community interns. The internship program was established on the proposition that every high school and college student must have fundamental writing and communication skills to develop leadership skills from a young age.
It is EWL’s anticipation that this internship program will give the youth of our community a competent, adept experience while maintaining an objective voice. The curriculum is designed to teach students how to communicate in a professional setting, how to write news articles, create newspaper layouts, conduct interviews and take photographs at events.
The internship program was incorporated with East-West Link Newspaper on June 6, 2009 and over the course of the year we have had over 40 interns, 8 advisers, and 3 editors from eclectic backgrounds. It is our highest goal to reach out to as many potential interns who can contribute and invest in an effort to better their skills to project the Muslim voice.
We welcome you to our website and communication lab and would be pleased to take any questions, concerns, or advice at ewlnews@ewlnews.com
